When it comes to UK insurance providers, one of the companies that has consistently remained at the top of our independent ethical rankings is Naturesave.
This October, Naturesave will be celebrating 25 years of trading. As a general insurance provider, they offer cover for homes, businesses and not-for-profit organisations. Naturesave is also a specialist in renewable energy, providing cover for some of the most innovative renewable energy systems/installations in the UK as well as cover for some of the greenest organisations.
Naturesave’s charity, The Naturesave Trust, provides funding for environmental conservation projects across the UK. In addition, the Trust also funds environmental performance reviews, offered for free to all Naturesave’s SME customers. The Trust also funds community renewable energy projects, providing funding assistance for start up costs together with investment capital to help get projects off the ground. To date, The Naturesave Trust has awarded over three quarters of a million pounds to such schemes.
Naturesave also operates as a Living Wage’ employer and a carbon neutral business. The company offsets their carbon through Climate Care, using a mixed portfolio that focuses on clean cooking, safe water and wind power, in locations such as Kenya, Ghana and India. They also believe that reducing carbon emissions is a priority and therefore offer a cycle to work scheme and have a commitment to conduct business travel by public transport. Additionally and uniquely, they also incentivise staff to avoid air travel for holidays, by providing any additional journey time as paid holiday.
In our latest ethical rankings for UK insurance providers, Naturesave scored an 89 ECI. Additionally, as a leading green and ethical insurance specialist, we’re extremely pleased to say that Naturesave has once again successfully reattained Ethical Accreditation following our annual independent audit. This means they are highly recommended by The Good Shopping Guide.
